Forum Introduction

Yolngu elders have agreed on the name Dhuni (pronounced like Sunni) for the Garma Forum.

Dhuni is related to the ritual theme of the bunggul (dance and song) that will be performed each evening of the festival, at Gulkula, near Nhulunbuy (Gove) North East Arnhem Land.

Yolngu elders, artists and performers are discussing Garma, preparing to present the very best of their visual and performing arts to each other and visitors coming from far away.
