| The Alliance Française de Sydney is a not-for-profit Franco-Australian cultural association which was founded in 1895. It is dedicated to promoting French language and culture and to establishing friendly relationships between francophones and francophiles in Sydney and in Australia at large.
The Alliance Française is not only a language school but also a cultural centre - a house of world cultures which above all promulgates links between cultures. Through cultural differences we embark on a journey of discovery, it is a significant basis for tolerance, understanding and self-reflection. Aspects of the Yolngu culture, give us wonderful and enlightening lessons in wisdom and humility. The Alliance Française de Sydney is very proud to promote the Garma Festival, support the Yothu Yindi Foundation and to celebrate the Yolngu culture. The catalogue was designed by the Alliance Française de Sydney. The Alliance Française de Sydney is part of the largest network of language and cultural centres in the world teaching over 450,000 students worldwide. |
IAG considers that in order to be truly sustainable, we need to be mindful of a host of cultural considerations including those of the indigenous peoples of this nation. To this end, we have established our own Indigenous Employment Program and we support the Aboriginal Employment Service in the NSW communities of Dubbo and Moree. IAG now employs almost 16,800 people in Australia and beyond. We've set ourselves a challenge of improving our diversity and this includes ensuring we develop a far deeper understanding of indigenous Australia. The Garma Festival is one remarkable and uplifting way of doing this and IAG is delighted to offer our support and we wish the Festival every success. |
